Primary Forest School & Outdoor Education can offer an accelerated development pathway for ambitious leaders looking to progress within the sector. We offer an excellent training and reward package to get leaders up to speed. Leaders can start off by shadowing our current staff and undertaking afterschool club commitments.

We offer a wide array of roles and opportunities, ensuring there's a match for every professional ambition. Here are some of the roles we typically seek:

Work Experience & Duke of Edinburgh Award

Year 10 & 11 pupils can assist alongside lead coaches within forest school sessions to see the structure of lessons and how lessons are delivered. 

Primary Forest school can support pupil's completing there Duke of Edinburgh Award, pupils can complete the volenteering and skills elements with our company.

Volunteers

Volunteers can come and help within lessons by setting up equipment, helping with warm ups and games based activities. We ask frequently for parent/ volunteers to assist in particular sessions such as tool use, camp fires and nature walks.

LEAD COACH

A lead coach will be expected to plan and deliver lessons across the whole range of the forest school subjects. 

Development Leader 

Alongside lead coach responsibilities a development leader will be in charge of nurturing the development of other Forest School leaders.

Bank Staff

We require Bank staff across our holiday club provision, self employed roles are available from 17 years +.

The days are 8am - 4pm or 8am - 6pm. The children arrive at 8.30am and leave at 3.30pm for a standard day and 5.30pm for an extended day. 

We pay between £7.50-£12 per hour depending on your experience in schools and/ or leading children’s activities, forest school and your age. We are also able to give you some in house CPD while you are with us so if you’d like to learn some forest school skills with tools and fires we can assist with this. 

Day to day you may be asked to deliver low risk activities, assist with supervision of children and abide by our safeguarding and risk assessments.

PRIMARY FOREST SCHOOL ARE RECRUITING ACROSS DORSET, DEVON AND SOMERSET

Currently we have various locations available. All roles are for forest school leaders with a starting salary of £21,701 FTE. It is desired that candidates have Level 3 Forest School Leader or equivalent but training can be given to the right canidate.

It is essential that all candidates have a driving license, school or instructor experience, have a great work attitude and can apply themselves both in a team and independently.

Dorset

Weymouth / Dorchester / Wareham and surrounding areas. Poole & Bournemouth and
surrounding areas.

North Devon/Somerset

Bridgwater and Highbridge including surrounding areas.

East Devon

Axminster and surrounding areas.
