St James Church School Newsletter

We have had a fantastic half term at forest school. Children heave not only been getting to know the site better but also our forest school leader. This has led to the site having some very dramatic transformations.

We now have a mud kitchen fully operational for the children to enjoy. look out for some good mud brownies coming our way. We also have been able to clear out one of our sheds and turned it into a cosy coned to get away from everyone and have some independent time if needed.

Finally we have developed a bug hotel. This way made with donated materials and the children helped to not only build but design the bug hotel. We can’t wait to find out which bugs come over for a visit.  The next stage will be to stuff in some leaf blankets!

With the weather remaining wet at forest school, we need to remember how we dress for forest school. A change of shoes or wellies are a must for our very muddy forest school site. This half term we will be going over boundaries as well as how to make our very own dens at forest school. We may even have water poured over our dens!
